How to use it

  1. 1Set the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and switch on the other areas you have, such as a terrace or a pool.
  2. 2Go through each room: untick the tasks that don't apply and add your own.
  3. 3Choose your cleaner's language, and a second language if you want both on the page.
  4. 4Print the checklist for every turnover, or send the text version to your cleaner.

What a good turnover checklist covers

A turnover is everything that happens between one guest's check-out and the next guest's check-in. A checklist makes it the same every time, whoever cleans, and it protects your reviews: cleanliness is one of the ratings guests give after every stay.

  • Room by room, in the order your cleaner walks through the home, so nothing is skipped.
  • Linen and towels: fresh for every stay.
  • High-touch surfaces: door handles, light switches and remote controls.
  • Checks, not just cleaning: forgotten items, damage, dead bulbs, open windows.
  • A restock list, so you know what to buy before it runs out.
  • Notes: a place to report damage or anything missing.

Tips for working with cleaners

  • Use their language. A checklist your cleaner reads fluently gets followed. Print it in their language, with yours underneath if you want to read it too.
  • Agree on photos. A photo of each finished room protects both of you if a guest complains.
  • Keep copies in the home, with the cleaning supplies, so there is always a fresh one.
  • Time a few turnovers. You'll learn how long your place really takes, which helps you set your cleaning fee and plan same-day turnovers.
  • Keep the deep clean separate: oven, windows, behind the furniture, mattresses and curtains every few months, not between every stay.

Frequently asked questions

What should be on an Airbnb cleaning checklist?

Every room guests use, in walking order (entrance, living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas), then final checks such as forgotten items, damage, windows and keys, and a restock list. Include high-touch surfaces like door handles, light switches and remote controls.

Can I print the checklist in my cleaner's language?

Yes. Choose your cleaner's language and, if you like, a second language: every task then prints in both, one under the other. The ready-made tasks come in 28 languages; tasks you add print as you wrote them.

How long does an Airbnb turnover take?

It depends on the size of the home, the laundry and how guests left it. Time your first few turnovers with the checklist and plan your check-out and check-in times so the cleaner isn't rushed on same-day turnovers.

How often should I deep clean my rental?

Every few months, or between seasons: inside the oven and fridge, windows, behind and under furniture, mattresses and pillows, curtains and grout. Plan it for a free day so it doesn't squeeze a turnover.

Is my checklist saved?

Yes, in this browser only, so you can come back and print it again. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
