Noise complaint

Hi [guest name],

A neighbour has mentioned some noise from the apartment. Could you please keep it down, especially after 10:00 PM? Thank you for understanding.

Best wishes,

Tip: on Airbnb, save these as scheduled messages or quick replies so they go out by themselves.

How to use it

  1. 1Fill in your place's details: check-in and check-out times, the address, how to get in and the WiFi.
  2. 2Choose your guest's language.
  3. 3Copy each message into Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, WhatsApp or an e-mail.
  4. 4Save them as scheduled messages or quick replies, so they go out by themselves.

The messages every stay needs

  1. Inquiry reply: answer fast. Airbnb shows guests your response rate and response time.
  2. Booking confirmed: thank the guest and tell them when the arrival details will come.
  3. Before arrival, two or three days ahead: the address, the check-in time, how to get in, parking and the WiFi.
  4. Check-in day: a short welcome, the WiFi again and how to reach you.
  5. During the stay: a quick "is everything all right?" catches problems before they turn into a review.
  6. Check-out reminder, the evening before: the time and the few tasks you ask for.
  7. After check-out: thank the guest, with a neutral reminder that an honest review helps.

Tips for guest messages

  • Facts first, short sentences. Guests read messages on their phone, often while travelling.
  • Write in your guest's language. A message they understand at once saves you follow-up questions.
  • Never offer anything in return for a review. Airbnb's review policy doesn't allow incentives; a neutral reminder is fine.
  • Send the same facts everywhere: the messages, your welcome book and your check-out sign should say the same times and rules.

Frequently asked questions

What should I send guests before they arrive?

Two or three days before check-in: the address, the check-in time, how to get in, parking and the WiFi. Ask roughly when they'll arrive, so you can be ready or send a reminder.

When should I send the check-out message?

The evening before departure, with the check-out time and the two or three tasks that matter most.

Can I ask guests for a review?

Yes, as long as you don't offer anything in return or pressure them: Airbnb's review policy forbids incentives. A short, neutral reminder after check-out is fine.

Can these messages go out automatically?

Yes. Airbnb lets you save scheduled messages that go out at a set time before or after check-in and check-out, and quick replies for common questions. Most other platforms and channel managers have message templates too.

Which languages can the messages be written in?

28, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Greek, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Your own details, such as how to get in, stay as you typed them.
