How to choose a name for a rental management business
- Win the owner first. Owners hand you their keys: names that sound reliable (Keystone, Cornerstone, Care, Partners) work better with them than jokes.
- Go local if you stay local. "Algarve Home Care" tells owners and guests exactly what you do and where, and it helps in local search. If you plan to expand, keep the place out of the main name.
- Leave room to grow. "Studio Cleaning Co." limits you; "Ready Rooms" can grow into co-hosting and management.
- Never use a platform's name. Names with "Airbnb", "Vrbo" or "Booking" break the platforms' trademark rules and can get you a takedown; describe what you do instead ("short stays", "holiday homes", "hosting").
- Make it easy to say on the phone and to spell in an e-mail address.
Check before you register the company
- The company register of your country (Companies House in the UK, your state's business registry in the US, the Registro Mercantil in Spain, the Registro delle imprese in Italy) for the same or a confusingly similar name.
- Trademarks: search the national register and, in the EU, TMview, which covers the EU and national registers at once.
- The domain and social handles: press the globe button next to a name in the generator to see which domains are still free.
- Google and Google Maps for local businesses with a similar name.
One website for owners and guests
A management business needs a site where guests book direct and owners see that you are real. Stayveo gives you a booking website for all the homes you manage, with calendar sync, card payments and one domain included (four on the Unlimited plan, which costs $29 or €29 a month for unlimited properties). See the pricing and the free domain.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good name for a property management company?
A name that sounds reliable to owners and clear to guests, often with your place in it: Keystone Property Care, Harbor Stays Management or Algarve Home Care. Check the company register, the trademark registers and the domain before you decide.
Can I use Airbnb in my business name?
No. Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com are registered trademarks, and their brand rules don't allow them in other businesses' names or domains. Use words like short stays, holiday homes, hosting or rentals instead.
Should my rental business name include my city?
If you plan to stay local, yes: it tells owners and guests where you work and helps in local search. If you plan to expand to other areas, keep the place out of the main name and use it in a tagline.
What are good names for an Airbnb co-hosting business?
Friendly, practical names work well: The Co-Host Club, Welcome Home Hosting, Key Ready, Doorstep Hosts or Hello Stay. Add your town if you work in one area.
How do I check if a business name is available?
Search your country's company register and trademark register (TMview covers the EU), look for the domain with the generator's globe button, and check Google Maps for local businesses with a similar name.
